Four steps to a finished order

Dark

Textured, dark red finish after final firing. Subject to some color variation and dappling.

Natural

Smooth, paperish coloration after final firing. The most neutral base for glazes.

Orange Buff

Similar texture to Dark with a light, orange hue. Subject to color variation and dappling.

Umber new

Smooth, concrete-like texture that gradiates from gray to a warm brown.

Black new

Deep, matte black finish after final firing.

Clay coloration is subject to some fluctuation depending on each firing. These colors give a close visual estimate. Pieces will show some patina over time, particularly with high mineral content water.

If your shop has space for different price points, I also love working together to design something special. Here are a few favorite techniques:

Full Dip

The entire piece is dipped in a glaze color, creating a uniform, bold finish.

Works well for all shapes

Half Dip / Drip

The lower half (or a drip from the top) is glazed, leaving the clay body visible above.

Works well for simpler, soft shapes

Taping

Geometric or organic patterns created by taping off sections before glazing — great for stripes, color blocking, and graphic looks.

Works well for simpler shapes

Hanging

A leather or cord hanger is added to the piece, turning it into a wall planter.

Works best for round or regular shapes

Inside Glaze

Glaze is applied to the interior only, leaving the outside raw clay visible.

Works well for all shapes

Half Dip

The bottom half of the piece is dipped in glaze, creating a clean color line mid-piece.
